Parents got to play the role of students at this year's open house, while students took on the role of teacher as they led their parents through various stations and activities. Let's see what they've been up to in ESL class this year!
Grade 1
Their first year of learning English! Grade 1 students demonstrated their learning during Open House, while parents participated in station activities alongside their children. A game of Find Someone Who got everyone moving around and speaking English with each other. We are very proud of the progress these students have made in their language learning in just one year.
Grade 2
Grade 2 students in ESL shared their learning this year with their parents through different station activities during this year's Open House. Parents rotated from station to station, while students shared about what they learned in ESL class this year, including reading, writing, and science units on insects and plants. They also p;ayed Kahoot! and showed their parents around the classroom.
Grade 3
Grade 3 students lead their parents through different English learning centres and activities. They even got their parents involved in acting out short impromptu skits, a skill the students worked on developing this year. They've come a long way with their confidence in using English!
