Founder and CEO

I founded Foresight International Education Center in 1994 with the goal of cultivating culturally aware global citizens while promoting Taiwan’s culture. I foster international education relationships worldwide and specialize in marketing. I have established authentic bilingual education programs in Taiwan and across Asia, providing students with the opportunity to further develop their English language skills. Also, I’m a foodie and avid golfer with an interest in financial analysis.

I’m a devoted mother and passionate reader. I was born in Taiwan, but grew up in Canada. I have worked with Foresight since 2003. My specialty is an understanding of both eastern and western culture and education and I have an ability to harmoniously integrate the Canadian educational approach into Taiwan’s system.

“To find your passion, follow your curiosity.”
I have been fortunate enough to experience living, working and travelling among different continents and I have always believed that travel and education go hand in hand. Opening your mind and hearts to different cultures, meeting people and witnessing the beauty of the big world we live in are some of the best learning experiences. The curiosity for learning about people brought me to Foresight and nothing has made me more proud than to be part of a talented group of people working hard to find the best teachers and connect them with our program and students. I feel lucky to be a part of a company that values the fact that the world is our classroom (literally) and strives to create a place where every student experiences the power of a great teacher and reaches their full potential because of it.

Program Support Director

Being myself a multilingual speaker, an immigrant, and a passionate teacher, I identify with Foresight’s mission of bridging cultures and languages to nurture our students and help them become creative and responsible global citizens. I am keenly aware of the challenges but also immense rewards of learning a new language, and work with our teachers and directors to help students of all levels achieve their best and enjoy our program. I really like hiking, sports, reading, and all Taiwanese food (yes, including stinky tofu!).

HR Recruitment

I have worked for Foresight I.E.C. for over 4 years now, first starting with the summer ESL program and now as a member of the teachers recruitment team. I have seen how Foresight’s ESL program helps the Taiwanese students improve their English and I truly believe that they can become better global citizens through it. I am also very excited to welcome all the teachers who have decided to join the Foresight family and always ready to help our teachers get the most out of their experience with us.

I joined Foresight in 2017 as a Site Director for over four years now. I used to be an English teacher and other educational associated roles for more than ten years. Foresight has brought a unique learning environment to students and me. It's been a fruitful and inspiring experience for me. I enjoy sharing a love of education, languages, food and travel with my friends and, of course, my colleagues and educators. "Leave this world a little better than you found it."

I have been employed by Foresight as a program specialist for five years now. My primary duty is to translate Taiwanese curriculum guidelines into English reference material for our program and ESL teachers. I also translate LFS (Learning Focus Statements) into Chinese for report cards, support as a liaison for Foresight's partner schools, and also act as the lead accommodation coordinator for Foresight's foreign teachers.

Program Support

I have been working at Foresight International Education Center since December 2011 and was a member of the International Exchange Student Program team for seven and a half years. I devoted myself to the field of education as it gives me a sense of accomplishment when I see students grow and parents’ pride in their kids after completing the exchange program. I also have faith that the Foresight ESL program will open Taiwanese students’ minds to a different way of thinking, inspire their interests, and lead them to success in their studies. When I’m not focused on the parent or student needs, I enjoy shopping, finding new and interesting restaurants with family and friends, or just staying at home and catching up with housework.

Gail Stewart
Gail Stewart

Coordinating Principal

I was first introduced to Foresight International Education Center in 2014 when I travelled to Taiwan to run a Summer ESL program in partnership with the York Region District School Board (Ontario, Canada). Upon my retirement as a Principal I was fortunate to continue a partnership with F.I.E.C. to support the implementation of a full-time ESL program in Taiwan and haven’t looked back. I am proud to work with such a dedicated group of individuals who care so deeply about providing exceptional English Language learning opportunities to young people in Taiwan. I treasure the time I have spent in Taiwan and Shanghai over the years supporting the program and our teachers and thoroughly enjoy both the culture and people I have had the opportunity to interact with.

I enjoy supporting the ESL program by marrying technology with digital marketing strategies for the purpose of improved student success. Seeing the enthusiasm of Taiwan’s youth learning English in this way is very rewarding and exciting.
